Say Goodbye to Pelvic Pain and Discomfort
Pelvic health issues are common but not normal, and they aren’t something you have to endure. It is estimated that approximately 32% of women and 16% of men will experience at least one pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime, which can leave you feeling frustrated, confused, embarrassed, or dismissed. We often suffer with symptoms for years, give up activities we love, take medications that only mask the symptoms, or undergo unnecessary surgeries that don’t solve the problem.
Our goal is to help you regain pelvic health and well-being. Our expert team specializes exclusively in these challenging conditions, ensuring you receive the best care possible. We aim not only to relieve your symptoms but also to address the underlying causes so they don’t return. Our pelvic health physiotherapists Sofy and Tracey are trained in a wide variety of pelvic health disorders, and have helped many patients from throughout the Penticton and greater Okanagan area regain their pelvic health. We would love to help you find lasting relief and feel confident in your body again.

Do you have perinatal issues preventing you from feeling 100%?
Nearly 75% of new moms experience perinatal and postpartum concerns such as low back pain, diastasis recti, incontinence, prolapse, painful intercourse, scar tissue from vaginal tears or C-sections, or difficulty returning to their favorite activities. Our pelvic health physiotherapists can help with these issues.
Do you want a healthy pregnancy and smooth delivery?
Whether you’re facing low back, hip, or groin pain, discomfort in your feet or wrists, or simply want a healthy pregnancy and smooth delivery, we can help make your pregnancy experience better.
Struggling with urinary or bowel issues and unsure where to turn?
Pelvic floor health is crucial for resolving issues like incontinence, urinary urgency and frequency, night time urination, urinary retention, and recurring UTIs. We also address bowel problems such as constipation, painful bloating, and abdominal cramping.
You are not alone.
Men often experience pelvic health issues such as pelvic pain, urinary problems, bowel dysfunction, and sexual difficulties. These conditions are less commonly discussed but are equally important, and specialized care can significantly improve quality of life for men facing these challenges. We know how frustrating dealing with a pelvic health issue can be – but you’ve found the right place to help!
Are you a man struggling with pelvic health issues?
Men can face many pelvic floor issues—pain, urinary problems, bowel health concerns, and sexual dysfunction— but we are geared towards treating male pelvic health issues in our clinic.
Is sexual pain or dysfunction affecting your intimate relationship?
The pelvic floor plays a key role in sexual activity for both women and men. We believe everyone deserves pain-free, enjoyable intimacy.
Are you struggling with low back, hip, or tailbone pain and having difficulty finding effective care?
The pelvic floor is often the missing link in addressing low back, hip, or tailbone pain. We can uncover and treat the underlying cause, potentially avoiding unnecessary measures such as injections or surgery.

Testimonials
I saw Tracey for her specialty in pre/postnatal physio work and happily walked out with confidence in new functional techniques that I am able to apply in my day to day life. We went over things to be aware of before and after pregnancy – and even for during labour! She used models and objects to help me understand context behind the work we did. I’m grateful she took the time to go into details with me without overwhelming me. I’m excited with the new practical skills and looking forward to going back to the team!
I’ve been seeing Sofy for a few months now and I have never had a more positive relationship with a physiotherapist before. She is very empathetic and knowledgeable. She encourages and motivates but without any shame or judgement. I have already surpassed my original goals and looking forward to setting new ones.
Sofy is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I really appreciate that Sofy works with you to make a plan that is manageable and realistic for you. One of the best physiotherapist I have ever seen! I would highly recommend Sofy to anyone looking for a physiotherapist, especially if you are looking for a specialist in women’s health!
Thank you Sofy! Her knowledge and expertise is amazing. She carefully diagnosed me, clearly explained everything, and provided stretches and exercises for rehabilitation with each session. Moreover, she’s awesome, super friendly, and focused on you and your recovery.

FAQ's
Will I need an internal assessment?
While an internal assessment may be helpful in certain circumstances or for certain issues, it will only be completed if your physiotherapist thinks it 100% necessary, and you are comfortable with them doing so. Quite often it is not necessary, and we will never complete any assessment or treatment you are uncomfortable with.
If I am on my period, can I still come in for my appointment and have an internal assessment?
Yes, absolutely! It is based on your comfort level. Being on your period does not affect the internal exam; it sometimes may provide valuable information about your pelvic floor if your symptoms are worse during your period.
Do I need to shave my private area before my appointment?
No, this is not necessary.
I’m nervous about coming in for a pelvic health appointment. Is my appointment private?
Your appointment is competed in a private treatment room in a one-on-one setting. We use screening curtains to help provide an extra layer of privacy, and what you discuss with your therapist is completely confidential and does not leave the room.
What should I expect during my pelvic health appointment?
You will be welcomed by our friendly front desk staff, and then will take a seat in a comfortable chair or couch while you wait for your physiotherapist to greet you. You will then walk down to your private treatment room, where your physiotherapist will go over a detailed medical and pelvic health history assessment with you, and you will be able to explain what issues you are having. Following this, the physiotherapist will complete different assessments and tests with you, before creating a personalized treatment plan specific to your situation.
How many times will I need to see you?
This will vary from person to person. Number of treatments ranges from 1 to 10+, but the average number is typically 5-6 treatments. We typically see clients more regularly in the beginning of the treatment to meet goals such as symptoms resolution, then space out the appointments for progression and independent management.
Are pelvic health physiotherapy appointments covered by my insurance plan?
Absolutely! Pelvic health physiotherapy falls under the umbrella of your physiotherapy coverage, and our front desk will be able to direct bill your insurance plan (if it allows, which the majority do).
What should I wear during my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
How is pelvic health physiotherapy different to regular physio?
The pelvic health discipline is highly specific, and our pelvic health physios Sofy and Tracey have both completed extensive extra-curricular training in pelvic health assessment and treatment. They have been treating pelvic health patients for years, and work with pelvic health patients on a weekly basis. They have received additional training in pelvic health which most physiotherapists will not have, and therefore are expertly placed to help you on your pelvic health journey.
